Book Review: "Plague of Doves" by Louise Erdrich

There's a thumbs-up for Erdrich's new book buried somewhere in my pompous treatise on The State of Literature. I wrote it for one of my favorite people, Minnesota Monthly editor Andy Putz.

    Cherie - don't know you, but I do know Louise, and MN literature, and you did a "pompous job on Minnesota literature" in MNMO. Not! In fact, yours is by far the best piece I have read on Louise - centering her career in this place firmly among and above the other current literary luminaries. Give yourself credit, girl, You done real good, eh. I recommend it to all.
